ISLAMABAD, July 2 (Xinhua) -- Seven more people have died and 14 others were injured in rain-related accidents across Pakistan over the past two days, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said Wednesday.
The latest casualties have raised the total deaths to 64, while the number of injured has climbed to 117 since the start of the monsoon season on June 26, according to the NDMA.
Most of the deaths were reported from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where flash floods continued to cause destruction.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more rain and thunderstorms over the next 12 to 24 hours in parts of the country. ■
