BUCHAREST, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Romania's main political parties signed a coalition agreement on Monday to form a pro-Western government for the 2025-2028 term, pledging structural reforms, democratic consolidation, and economic stability.
The coalition includes the Social Democratic Party (PSD), National Liberal Party (PNL), Save Romania Union (USR), Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR), and the Parliamentary Group of National Minorities. The agreement was finalized at the Romanian Senate.
The coalition protocol outlines a rotating prime ministership and sets priorities such as transparent governance, merit-based administration, continued investment, and a stable business climate, while aiming to preserve social cohesion.
Prime Minister-designate Ilie Bolojan said the new alliance is committed to addressing the budget deficit and implementing wide-ranging reforms to promote long-term national development. ■
