BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, June 23 (Xinhua) -- Over 3,000 kilograms of paper waste, cupboards and plastic bottles were collected at Brunei's Recycling Day held nationwide on Sunday, local media has reported.
According to the Borneo Bulletin on Monday, the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, as the organizer, also collected 392.3 litres of used cooking oil, 62 lithium batteries, 578 units of electronic waste and 929 used items for recycling.
This initiative is one of the Brunei government's efforts to increase public awareness and participation in practicing recycling habits, and introducing recycling services available in the country. ■
