KATHMANDU, June 22 (Xinhua) -- Two children and three adults were killed and 184 others wounded in fire incidents across Nepal between May 15 and June 14, police said on Sunday.
Properties worth 277.19 million Nepali rupees (2 million U.S. dollars) were gutted in 816 fires, Nepal Police said in a report.
According to the report, 64 houses, 87 sheds and one government office were destroyed and 77 cattle were killed in the fires.
"If precautions were taken, it was possible to minimize the human and material losses caused by fires," the report noted.
Three children and eight adults were killed in 634 fires across the country between April 14 and May 14. ■
