JERUSALEM, June 20 (Xinhua) -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement that more than 25 of its fighter jets struck and destroyed over 35 missile storage and launch facilities in the Tabriz and Kermanshah areas in western Iran on Friday.

According to the IDF, more than 50 Israeli fighter jets carried out overnight strikes on targets in Tehran.

The IDF stated that the overnight strikes targeted Iran's alleged nuclear weapons program, including the building of the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research, the program's headquarters, as well as another facility that produced a critical component for the program.

The Tehran strikes also targeted industrial sites involved in the production of surface-to-surface missile components.

The IDF also added that the overnight operation also struck three missile launchers in Iran that were ready to launch, and a military commander who was operating to launch the missiles.

It noted that in recent days, its fighter jets had also attacked Iranian missile and radar systems in the Isfahan and Tehran areas.
