KABUL, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Police have discovered arms and arrested 10 individuals on charges of keeping and carrying illegal arms in eastern Afghanistan's Laghman province, said a statement of the Ministry of Interior Affairs on Thursday.
The arms were recently apprehended from the Alingar district, the statement said, adding police discovered six pieces of Kalashnikovs, two pieces of rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), and numerous bullets.
In similar operations, police also took into custody a band of burglars who were involved in armed robbery in western Herat province a couple of days ago. ■
