VIENTIANE, June 19 (Xinhua) -- The Lao Front for National Development (LFND) is preparing to host a series of nationwide events to celebrate its 75th anniversary, which falls on Aug. 13, showcasing its historic contributions to national unity, liberation, and development.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, LFND Deputy President Inlavanh Keobounphanh announced plans for the celebration, emphasizing the importance of strengthening unity under the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) amid current domestic and international challenges.

The celebration aims to honor the LFND's 75-year legacy in national liberation and development, while promoting patriotism and unity among all ethnic groups.

Planned activities include exhibitions and media campaigns, tributes to former LFND leaders and their families, and a national ethnic cultural fair. Other highlights include campaigns to eradicate poverty and build drug-free villages, and cultural and sports events such as literature, music, dance, and poetry contests.

Additionally, a grand parade will feature participants from 50 ethnic groups, and public awareness will be boosted through a commemorative documentary, media coverage, and billboards nationwide.
