PHNOM PENH, June 16 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's trade volume with its fellow ASEAN member states reached 7.2 billion U.S. dollars in the first five months of 2025, up 5.5 percent over the same period last year, a report said on Monday.
The country exported products worth 2.7 billion dollars to other ASEAN countries during the January-May period this year, up 10 percent year-on-year, while its total import amounted to 4.5 billion dollars, up 3 percent, said the report compiled by the Ministry of Commerce.
Cambodia's trade volume with the ASEAN accounted for 28.2 percent of the country's total trade volume in the cited period, the report said.
Cambodia's top five trading partners in ASEAN were Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, the report added.
ASEAN comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said at a recent Cambodia-ASEAN business summit that ASEAN has established itself as a beacon of stability and prosperity, with immense potential highlighted by its status as the world's fifth-largest economy.
He added that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement has further solidified ASEAN's unwavering commitment to deepen regional integration and foster mutually beneficial economic and trade relations. ■
