TEHRAN, June 15 (Xinhua) -- Two explosions were reported near the international airport in Iran's northeastern city of Mashhad on Sunday evening following Israeli attacks, the semi-official Tasnim news agency said.

The explosions, caused by Israeli "projectiles," occurred around 18:30 local time (1500 GMT), the report said.

Tasnim said the airport's air defense intercepted all the "hostile targets," and no damage was inflicted on the airport's buildings or runway.

Israel first launched airstrikes on Tehran and other Iranian cities on Friday, killing a number of Iran's top military commanders, nuclear scientists, and civilians. It continued its attacks on Saturday and Sunday. Iran responded by launching missile attacks against various targets in Israel. According to Israel's state-owned Kan TV News, the death toll from Iran's strikes since Friday has reached 14.
