GENEVA, June 12 (Xinhua) -- The International Testing Agency (ITA) announced Thursday that Vietnamese wushu athlete Do Dat Huynh has accepted a two-year sanction after testing positive for the prohibited substance 5-methylhexan-2-amine (1,4-dimethylpentylamine).
The ITA said Do Dat Huynh provided a sample during an unannounced in-competition doping control on November 20, 2023, at the 16th World Wushu Championships in Fort Worth, United States. The sample tested positive for 5-methylhexan-2-amine, which "notably improves concentration and alertness, increases energy levels and endurance and accelerates the metabolism," according to the ITA.
The athlete did not contest the anti-doping rule violations (ADRV), and his period of ineligibility runs from February 15, 2024, to February 14, 2026. ■
