PHNOM PENH, June 11 (Xinhua) -- Cambodia's imports of diesel fuel, gasoline, and combustion gas dropped by 12.6 percent in the first four months of 2025, according to a Ministry of Commerce report on Wednesday.
The value of diesel fuel, gasoline and combustion gas imports totaled 834.37 million U.S. dollars during the January-April period this year, down 12.6 percent from 954.88 million dollars over the same period last year, the report said.
The Southeast Asian country spent 449.76 million dollars on diesel fuel, down 13 percent; 272.25 million dollars on gasoline, down 18 percent; and 112.36 million dollars on combustion gas, up 6.46 percent, the report added.
Cambodia currently relies on imports of oil and gas entirely.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy has projected that the demand for oil and gas products in Cambodia will reach 4.8 million tons in 2030, up from 2.8 million tons in 2020. ■
