TOKYO, June 11 (Xinhua) -- The Japanese government on Wednesday maintained its overall assessment that the domestic economy is recovering moderately, while noting continued uncertainty due to U.S. trade policies.

This marks the third consecutive month the government has held the view since April.

Despite persistent concerns over the impact of potential U.S. tariff measures, the report highlights positive trends such as strong corporate capital investment and improvements in the employment and income environment.

The language describing corporate earnings was slightly revised from simply "improving" to "improving, but attention should be paid to the impact of trade issues."

The adjustment reflects the possibility that data from the April-June quarter onward may begin to show clearer effects of U.S. tariff actions, Nikkei reported.

Assessments for other key categories, including personal consumption and business sentiment, remained unchanged from the previous month.

Regarding the global economy, the report reiterated that recovery momentum has slowed and noted stagnation in certain regions.

The report also underscored the growing caution among Japanese policymakers as they monitor global trade developments, particularly those driven by shifting U.S. economic policies.
