ISLAMABAD, June 3 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's security forces killed seven terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in the country's southwestern Balochistan province, the military said on Tuesday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, said that five terrorists were eliminated in the Mach area of Kachhi district of the province.
Troops launched a swift operation and engaged the militants' hideout, eliminating all five after an intense exchange of fire.
In another operation conducted in the Margand area of Kalat district, two more terrorists affiliated with the same group were killed when their hideout was located and destroyed by security forces.
The ISPR added that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the slain militants, who were actively involved in multiple terror activities across the province.
"These terrorists were part of a foreign proxy network operating to destabilize Pakistan," the statement read, adding that the operations are part of Pakistan's continuing efforts to eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to rooting out terrorism and pledged to bring all perpetrators and their facilitators to justice. ■
