ANKARA, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Turkish police have detained 23 suspects wanted internationally under Interpol notices, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on Friday.
In a statement posted on his social media account on X, Yerlikaya said police carried out operations in six provinces, during which they caught a total of 23 suspects wanted by 11 countries, including 13 under Interpol Red Notices, one under a Blue Notice, and nine through Diffusion messages. Yerlikaya did not specify the time frame of the operations.
He said the suspects were wanted for crimes including membership in criminal organizations, premeditated murder, sexual assault, fraud, and drug trafficking.
The suspects were handed over to the provincial directorates of migration management, and deportation procedures were immediately initiated, he added. ■
