KABUL, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has launched 183 essential development projects worth over 2.6 million U.S. dollars in west Afghanistan's Farah province, state-run Bakhtar news agency reported Friday.
The projects initiated include the construction of roads, water canals, dams, and other infrastructure facilities in several districts of Farah province, funded by the World Bank, and will be finished within three months, the report said.
These projects will improve the living conditions of thousands of residents in Farah province, the state-owned media outlet said, adding that the projects will also create job opportunities for more than 15,000 people.
The Afghan interim government plans to launch more development projects across the war-ravaged country to address economic challenges, create job opportunities and reduce poverty. ■
