JERUSALEM, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Foreign tourists' overnight stays at Israeli hotels reached some 874,900 in the first four months of 2025, up 53.7 percent year-on-year, according to data issued Wednesday by the country's Central Bureau of Statistics.
In April alone, Israeli hotels registered 317,300 tourist stays, marking an 88.2-percent increase compared to the same month last year.
The rise followed a ceasefire agreement in Lebanon on Nov. 27, 2024, and a temporary ceasefire in Gaza on Jan. 19, 2025, which have prompted several international airlines to resume flights to Israel.
Despite the increase, tourist stays remain well below pre-conflict levels. In the first four months of 2023, before the outbreak of the conflict, the figure stood at 3.17 million. ■
