MANILA, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Three people died and one person was injured after a closed van crashed into three cars in northern Philippines' Baguio City before dawn on Thursday, the police said.
The crash took place at around 3:30 a.m. local time along a highway while the van was traveling downhill to the city to deliver auto parts, according to the police.
The police said the van collided head-on with an oncoming utility van, then struck a traffic sign before crashing into two parked vehicles.
The van driver and his two helpers were killed inside the vehicle, and emergency workers had to use a metal saw to retrieve the bodies.
The driver of the oncoming utility van sustained injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
The police are still investigating the cause of the crash. ■
