NEW DELHI, May 28 (Xinhua) -- India's index of industrial production (IIP) registered a growth of 2.7 percent during April 2025 compared to the same month last year, according to the official data released by the federal Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation on Wednesday.
The IIP in April fell from 3 percent recorded in the previous month, the data showed.
The overall industrial growth was mainly driven by the growth of 3.4 percent in the manufacturing sector, followed by 1.1 percent in the electricity sector. The mining sector registered a negative growth of -0.2 percent in April. ■
