YANGON, May 28 (Xinhua) -- The Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, also known as the Golden Rock, in Myanmar attracted more than 1.17 million local and international visitors between October last year and May 19 this year, state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television reported on Wednesday.
The number of international visitors during this period was over 24,000 visitors, with most coming from Thailand, the report said.
Visitor arrivals during this period increased compared to the same period a year ago, it added.
The Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, a well-known Buddhist pilgrimage site in Mon state, southern Myanmar, is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. ■
