LA PAZ, May 24 (Xinhua) -- Veteran goalkeeper Carlos Lampe has returned to Bolivia's squad for World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Chile, the Bolivian football federation said on Saturday.
The 38-year-old has not played for his country since suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon in Bolivia's 2-1 away victory over Chile in a World Cup qualifier last September.
As expected, La Verde manager Oscar Villegas also included Atlanta United defender Efrain Morales, Shakhtar Donetsk center-back Diego Arroyo and Mallorca midfielder Oscar Lopez.
But there was no place for midfielder Ramiro Vaca, who was provisionally suspended earlier this month for an alleged anti-doping rule violation.
Bolivia will meet Venezuela away on June 6 and Chile at home four days later.
Villegas' men are currently eighth in the 10-team South American group with 14 points from 14 qualifiers so far.
The top six teams will earn an automatic berth at next year's FIFA World Cup while the seventh-ranked side will advance to an intercontinental playoff.
Bolivia is aiming to qualify for football's showpiece tournament for the first time since 1994.
