KABUL, May 23 (Xinhua) -- A three-day exhibition showcasing domestic products kicked off on Thursday in Aibak city, the capital of northern Afghanistan's Samangan province, state-run Bakhtar News Agency reported.
A variety of local agricultural products, handicrafts, foods, and manufacturing industries are put on display in 100 kiosks at the exhibition that will conclude Saturday, Bakhtar cited Qari Enayatullah Yasini, an official of the provincial department of industry and commerce.
The event aims to boost local products and small-scale business activities, the official said, adding that the interim administration is committed to supporting local enterprises as part of its broader efforts to help communities achieve self-sufficiency.
Ahmadullah Momand, a stallholder at the fair, expressed his satisfaction with the exhibition, urging officials to provide more opportunities to promote and sale local products.
The Afghan interim government actively supports and organizes domestic product exhibitions across the country to promote local industries and reduce reliance on imports. ■
