VIENTIANE, May 23 (Xinhua) -- Laos held a seminar on financial self-sustainability in the digital and AI era, aiming to enhance the capacity of media organizations in management, service delivery, and marketing to support sustainable income generation.
The seminar, held in Lao capital Vientiane on Friday, was organized by the Lao Journalists' Association under the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, bringing together media professionals and key stakeholders to explore sustainable management strategies for media organizations, the Vientiane Mai newspaper reported on Friday.
In his speech, Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Phosy Keomanivong emphasized the importance of upgrading management, service, and marketing skills to ensure media organizations can generate sustainable income in the digital age.
He stressed the need for responsible financial practices in line with laws and regulations, and encouraged the use of modern technologies to enhance professionalism and competitiveness.
The Lao government emphasized the crucial role of media in the digital age, noting that it can have both positive and negative impacts on society, especially as communication systems evolve rapidly. ■
