YANGON, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar recorded more than 860 cases and four deaths from dengue fever between Jan. 1 and May 10, 2025, state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television reported on Thursday, citing figures from the country's Ministry of Health.
The number of cases and fatalities has decreased compared to the same period in 2024, the report said.
Dengue fever, a mosquito-borne viral infection, typically surges during the rainy season in Myanmar, the report said.
The Ministry of Health is continuing preventive measures to contain the spread of the disease, the report added. ■
