UNITED NATIONS, May 22 (Xinhua) -- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Thursday strongly condemned the killing of two Israeli embassy officials in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday night.
"Nothing can justify such a horrific act," said Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN chief, noting that Guterres reiterated his consistent condemnation of attacks against diplomatic officials.
Guterres called for the perpetrator to be brought to justice and extended his sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims, as well as to the Israeli government, he added. ■
