VIENTIANE, May 22 (Xinhua) -- The Lao state-owned Electricite du Laos (EDL) is working to enhance electricity operations, strengthen coordination between central and local levels, and improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Refining the electricity pricing structure, strengthening coordination between central and local levels, and developing detailed, actionable work plans are key priorities for improving efficiency, Socio-Economic News on Thursday quoted EDL Chairman Akhomdeth Vongsay as saying during a meeting with key officials in Xaysomboun province on Wednesday.
During the meeting, the delegation listened to a report outlining recent achievements, including improvements in grid management, customer service, energy loss reduction, debt collection, and overall system stability. The report also highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure transparency and public understanding.
Provincial officials also presented future plans aimed at enhancing system efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. These include investments in infrastructure, digital system management, workforce development, and the promotion of energy efficiency. ■
