KABUL, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Police have arrested three drug smugglers and discovered illegal drug in their possession in eastern Afghanistan's Khost province, provincial police spokesman Tahir Ehrar said Wednesday.
The alleged drug smugglers were arrested in Alishir district on Tuesday, and the police discovered 4 kg of hashish in their possession, the official added without providing more details.
The police won't allow anyone to produce or smuggle illicit drug elsewhere in the province, the official asserted.
In a similar drive against illegal drug, the police destroyed 15 acres of a poppy farm in the Dahana Ghori area of the northern Baghlan province a couple of days ago. ■
