GENEVA, May 15 (Xinhua) -- The Union Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne (UIPM) announced Thursday to increase the prize money for the 2025 season, including the first-ever awards at the UIPM Pentathlon World Championships.
The top six finishers in each of the Women's and Men's Individual categories at the Pentathlon World Championships will be rewarded with prize money for the first time, matching the provision already in place for the Pentathlon World Cup Final, UIPM announced.
UIPM President Rob Stull said: "We are on an exciting trajectory now with a new format that is going to dazzle the world at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. It's important that athletes feel the benefits of commercial growth as well as enjoying the evolving sporting challenge."
The 2025 Pentathlon World Championships will take place in Kaunas, Lithuania, from August 26 to 30. ■
