SYDNEY, May 13 (Xinhua) -- A man has been hospitalized in a critical condition after being stabbed in a car park north of Sydney, police said on Tuesday.
The 38-year-old man was found with serious stab wounds in the basement car park of a unit block in North Gosford, 50 km north of Sydney in the Central Coast region of the state of New South Wales (NSW), about 6 a.m. local time on Tuesday.
He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics for stab wounds to the back, upper body and left arm before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.
NSW Police Chief Inspector Colin Lott said at a press conference that neighbors who heard screams for help found the man "bleeding profusely" and saw two people, a man and a woman, running away from the scene.
He said that the suspected offenders live in the same unit block as the victim and that the altercation began in the car park.
"They subsequently produced knives and stabbed the victim multiple times," Lott said.
He said that police have identified the suspected offenders as a female aged about 19 and a male aged about 24 and urged them to turn themselves in. ■
