TOKYO, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.5 struck Japan's Chiba prefecture, east of Tokyo, the weather agency said on Monday.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the temblor occurred at 7:46 p.m. local time at a depth of 70 km, measuring 3 on Japan's seismic intensity scale which peaks at 7.
The temblor's epicenter was located at a latitude of 35.6 degrees north and a longitude of 140.1 degrees east. ■
