Pakistan's services export rises by 6.77 pct in March

ISLAMABAD, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Pakistan's services export increased by 6.77 percent year on year in March, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Tuesday.

Services export rose to 710.75 million U.S. dollars from 665.68 million dollars in the corresponding month last year, data from PBS showed.

On a month-on-month basis, the services export grew by over 13 percent in March, said the PBS.

The export of services slightly shrank to 5.80 billion dollars during the first nine months of the current fiscal year, which started from July 2023 to June 2024, against 5.82 billion dollars in the same period last fiscal year,

According to PBS data, the country's export of services stood at 7.3 billion dollars in the fiscal year 2023, an increase of 2.78 percent compared to the preceding year.

The data showed that the import of services increased by 13.51 percent to 800.26 million dollars in March compared to 705.04 million dollars in the corresponding month of last year.

On a monthly basis, the import of services witnessed a surge of 13.06 percent, the data showed.
