VIENTIANE, May 6 (Xinhua) -- The Steering Committee for Laborers of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) is working with its partners to enhance skill development for workers as part of the efforts to boost the Lao economy.
Related departments have gathered here for a meeting to review the committee's activities and the work of the Dual Cooperative Training (DCT) Service Center of the LNCCI, as well as to exchange views on related issues, including a framework for the DCT service center.
Participants also held discussions on draft laws related to business, labor and industry, Lao National TV reported on Monday.
Such important issues as the protection of labor rights, benefits and social welfare of workers, and disaster prevention, were brought up for discussion during the meeting, Vice President of the LNCCI Xaybandith Rasphone, said at the meeting on May 3. ■
