BEIJING, May 4 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.8 jolted North of Ascension Island at 0552 GMT on Saturday, the GFZ German Research Center for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 1.16 degrees south latitude and 14.26 degrees west longitude. ■
