LAGOS, April 1 (Xinhua) -- The first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line corridor, spanning 13 km and covering five stations, began commercial operation in September 2023. A flagship project of the China-proposed Belt and Road Initiative, the Blue Line is the first electrified railroad and cross-sea light rail in West Africa. The project was undertaken by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) in July 2010 and completed in December 2022,
