YANGON, Dec. 31 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar exported about 564,269 tons of black grams in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, according to the country's Ministry of Commerce on Sunday.

From April 1 to Dec. 22, the country earned about 514 million U.S. dollars from the exports of black grams, the ministry's figures showed.

The Southeast Asian country shipped about 561,711 tons of the black grams via sea route, and about 2,558 tons through land border during the cited period, the ministry said.

As of Dec. 22, Myanmar earned about 953 million dollars from about 1,125,150 tons of beans and pulses exports, including black grams, the figures showed.

Myanmar exports beans and pulses mainly to China, India, and European countries.

Beans and pulses are Myanmar's second-most cultivated crops after rice and account for over 30 percent of the total agricultural production.
