BOGOTA, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- David Ospina has been recalled to Colombia's national squad for friendlies against Venezuela and Mexico in the United States, the Colombian Football Federation said on Monday.
The 35-year-old Al Nassr goalkeeper has not represented his country since November 2022 because of an elbow injury that required surgery.
Head coach Nestor Lorenzo also included newcomers David Silva, Samuel Velasquez, Brayan Vera and Sebastian Gomes in his 20-man squad.
Colombia will play Venezuela in Fort Lauderdale on December 10 and Mexico in Los Angeles six days later.
The teams will be below full strength because the matches are outside FIFA's official international windows, meaning clubs are not obliged to release their players.
Lorenzo has said he will use the fixtures to test his squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Colombia are currently third in the South American group, three points behind leaders Argentina. ■
