DAMASCUS, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned Saturday the Israeli army's warning to Gazan residents, which urged them to evacuate to the southern part of the coastal enclave.
In a statement carried by the state news agency SANA, the ministry urged the Israeli side to halt the plan, saying such actions violate "humanitarian principles."
On Friday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) ordered residents of Gaza City to evacuate southward ahead of a possible Israeli ground offensive.
The move has drawn criticism from various countries in the region, including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye. The Arab League and the United Nations also urged Israel to suspend the order to avoid more humanitarian suffering. ■
