KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia has developed 5,873 5G sites as part of the country's roll-out with the service now reaching 70.2 percent coverage in populated areas, Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil said on Monday.
Fahmi said the implementation of the 5G network was being carried out by Digital Nasional Berhad, a special-purpose vehicle company owned by the Finance Ministry.
Fahmi also said the implementation of 5G in Malaysia is moving faster than the 4G network implemented previously, adding that a total of 2.49 million subscriptions have been recorded. ■
