ANKARA, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Lake Tuz (Salt Lake in Turkish) in central Türkiye has turned bright pink, partially due to the red-orange pigment produced by algae in the lake during the summer periods when the temperature and salinity increase.
The lake, covering an area of 1,665 square kilometers, is Türkiye's second-largest lake and home to several bird species, especially the flamingos, who feed on algae in the lake's shallow waters in warm seasons.
