KABUL, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Thousands of girl students in grade 12 attended a one-day high school graduation exam in Afghanistan's capital city Kabul and several provinces on Wednesday to pave the way for their seeking higher education.
The exam ran from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. local time, Kabul's girl student Shiwa said.
"Without any preparations, I attended the graduation exam in a school in Darul Aman locality. There were 140 questions and I am hoping to secure enough marks and facilitate my admission to a university," Shiwa told Xinhua.
The exam is taking place amid the closure of girls' schools from grade 7 to 12 after the Taliban took over the war-torn Asian country in August 2021. ■
