SAO PAULO, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Palmeiras missed a chance to tighten their grip on Brazil's Serie A title when they were held to a 1-1 away draw by relegation-threatened Atletico Goianiense on Monday.
Murilo Cerqueira gave the visitors the lead with a 49th-minute strike before Shaylon Cardozo equalized just after the hour mark.
The result leaves Palmeiras with 67 points, 10 points ahead of second-placed Internacional with seven match days remaining. Goianiense are 18th in the 20-team standings with 29 points.
In Monday's only other Brazilian Serie A fixture, Lucas Braga scored twice as Santos romped to a 4-1 home win over Juventude.
Marcos Leonardo and Madson were also on target for the eight-time Serie A champions while Bruno Nazario pulled a late goal back for the visitors. ■
