BEIJING, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- The growth of China's warehouse storage sector eased in August, according to a survey jointly conducted by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing and CMST Development Co., Ltd.
The index tracking the sector's development stood at 51.2 percent in August, down 1.9 percentage points from a month ago, continuing to stay in the expansion range.
A reading above 50 percent indicates expansion, while below 50 percent reflects contraction.
The slight decline in the index showed that the expansion of the sector weakened, mainly due to the adverse impacts of COVID-19 outbreaks and extreme weather in some regions.
The survey also predicted an improvement in the sector's performance in the future as policies to stabilize economic growth would further boost demand and supply. ■
