WUHAN, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Central China's Hubei Province announced on Tuesday that it will issue coupons worth 100 million yuan (14.91 million U.S. dollars) to boost the sports sector's development and meet citizens' growing demand for fitness.
The coupons can be used in sports venues, sports training centers, sports shops and ski resorts in the province, according to Ding Yalin, deputy director of the Hubei Administration of Sport.
The first batch of coupons will be available on Friday on the smartphone apps of Alipay and card payment giant China UnionPay, and more vouchers will be distributed on August 8, September 30 and December 16 respectively.
This is the first time that Hubei has offered sports-related coupons. ■
