RIO DE JANEIRO, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Midfielder Jean Pyerre struck late to earn Avai a 2-2 home draw with leaders Palmeiras in Brazil's Serie A championship on Sunday.
Guilherme Bissoli put the hosts ahead with a penalty on the stroke of halftime before Gustavo Scarpa equalized by also converting from the spot just after the restart.
Rony gave the visitors the lead with a netting in the 65th minute but Pyerre put the hosts on level terms with a curling free-kick 17 minutes from time.
