Indonesia inaugurates Southeast Asia's largest digital test house

JAKARTA, May 7 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian President Joko Widodo inaugurated Southeast Asia's largest digital test house, a telecommunications equipment testing laboratory worth 980 billion rupiah (around 61 million U.S. dollars) on an area of 22,723 square meters in West Java Province on Tuesday.

"(This is) the largest and most comprehensive in Southeast Asia, and will be the leading digital device certification center in the region," Widodo.

Apart from being a facility for testing and certifying digital device technology, the house will also serve as a center to encourage innovation, strengthen the digital technology ecosystem with easy access to certification.

Widodo encouraged this house with 12 giant laboratories to become a research and development center in collaboration with universities and companies to compete on the international stage.
